This actually looks really good. You might think that way because the shading and colors are very different from your own drawing, but you've followed the face and the hair really well

The drawing is looking great! Some hard shadows are what you might be looking for. I did some quick work on another layer to show you how to do that. Don't be scared to use some kinda weird colors and most importantly don't give up! Doing something half-assed is better than not doing it at all. When you take a step you already did a million times more than people who did nothing, no matter how small it is.
