#Lightning help!!

Anyone?!
Hello! I really love your rendering style, it’s so clean!
So you needed help with the lighting, correct?
From what I can tell, the lighting is coming down kind of overhead, yes? And it’s a strong light source at that.
One of the best ways to convey that strong sense of light is to deepen your shadows. Right now, the skin is a nice light gradient, but because the light source is strong, you’d want to deepen that color.
When you add the highlights where the light touches, I’d say to lighten and saturate the areas more.
There are some areas I marked that you could add highlights if you think it fits.
And when you have a strong light source, there’s going to be some bounce light, or light that bounces from one surface to another. And depending on where exactly the light source is, you might want to add some. An example of this is when the color of your shirt reflects onto your skin, changing the visible hue of your skin slightly.
Pardon my terrible editing job (I’m using my phone’s sketch app
)
OMG TYSMMMMM
The yellow line on the cheekbone am I supposed to make that area darker?
Well, yes, initially I put that there as an indication of shadow, because the gradient on the skin went lighter down there, when based on the lighting, it should be in shadow. But it doesn’t have to be, since you might want bounce light there
Just a min what's the blue lined area supposed to be
Oh yeah! So the blue lines are to indicate highlights from the light
Sorry, I forgot to add that :,)
Oh! It's okay tysm!
Of course! Did you get what I meant when I talked about bounce light?
Yes!
The rays will reflect the light on the shirt onto the face
Best of luck with your drawing! It’s looking great so far :D
