#Please help with my shading

hey, even without blender you can still use alternatives like tissue or q-tips, or even your own finger!
Make straight horizontal lines next to each other and make each line very light (dont make it dark on its first try) and bit by bit u darken the parts that need to be drakened
Thanks🫡
So cross hatching?
No it's another method
Ill try to show u the steps
First of u start drawing horizontal lines very lightly (and next to each other)
And to make diff parts darker you can either u one of the three methods
Note: if u want to do the oblique lines make sure they follow one direction only
Thanks, that helped a lot but if I want to dive deeper into this is there video on it on YouTube?
Ill check for u 😄
Thanks! I'm sorry for being a hassle 🙂
You have to be patient, you can't just speed run it like this and then smudge it with your finger, it won't look good #1313625397048381551
Thank! But the problem is that Im not intentionally "speed ruining it" it's just I don't know what else to do, if I add anything else it gets too muddy lol also I don't smuge it with my fingers btw. Thanks for the feed back!
Ahh I assumed you smudge because most people do, what I suggest in that case is you take your time with the strokes, make sure they're super super close together like this, it will take forever but this way you can't get the basic contrast down super super smooth.
Thank you so much for the feedback, I'll try it out next time!
For example look at how carefully this guy does it, and as a result how smooth it is -
