Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. I'm looking for a painting expert ^^ I'm having a really hard time making smooth, even coats of paint, as you can see. Here, I'd like to have a solid background, but it's not at all. Do you have any advice: should I dilute my paint more, dilute it less, work with more paint? Thanks in advance : )

You need to use a lot more paint. Just finished a color theory class where we used acrylic guache. I had to use lots of paint to get it opaque

Yes, definitely. It doesn’t dry as quick. So if you make a mistake you can just wipe it off. You won’t need to use as much paint at all like with acrylic or guache, so you’ll have the paint last longer. Also, because it stays wet longer, you are able to blend easily. However, note that it does take a while to dry. You can use certain oils and stuff to speed up the process though. Also, the paints aren’t exactly cheap. But they last longer than acrylic and oil. You don’t need to keep mixing the same color every two seconds bc your acrylic or guache immediately dries. I used it for my life painting class and it really really helped since we were painting the human body, which takes time to learn as we did our nude models. So i didn’t feel like i needed to rush.
