#Need help to stop drawing the head and faces bigger than the body.

It's not the height that's the problem it's the length and width of the body specifically the shoulders. I either make them too muscular or too small almost like a bobble head. I always start off with the head and the face and by the time I start with the body the head is bigger than I expected. So either I only draw the waist up or I redraw the whole thing which is a bummer. Anyone got any advice?
The picture I provided was my last drawing. I know my statement might not make any sense considering his body is facing sideways but even then I tried my best to still make the shoulders bigger than the head and it still looks off.

An example where I found out I made the head too big that I could only draw from the chest up

oh yeah I suffer with the same problem 😭 its just the issue of drawing the details first. I would try mapping out the whole body first so that the proportions/perspective are figured out. I usually map out poses using three dimensional shapes like cubes and cylinders.

Used to use that actually. Haven't used it in a while. I've started a new art style and my old one used to be anime where the head looks like it weights more than the body but now that I've changed my art it still shows the head a little bit bigger than the body. Not as big but still big enough where you can notice

So start using shapes again? Like squares, rectangles and cylinders? Idk if I remember how to use them

This is just my preference but I use rectangles for the pelvis/torso, cylinders for the arms/legs, and spheres for the elbows/knees to indicate torque movement

It’s also just a matter of experimenting and figuring out what works best for you
