#Help on dynamic poses

Line of action! It's where the spine starts from the head and then goes down and follows through with one of the legs, or both of them in this case in my opinion.
I think what makes your drawing stiff is the waist area where it's angular instead of curved. In my opinion dynamic poses are fluid, and this is shown via "S" lines and "C" lines. In this case, try making the outerline of the bottom leg more curved instead of straight.
So it because of the line of action and the lines on the leg's are too stiff?
I'd think so! For dynamic poses you can sketch them but they might look stiff at first, so people would also do long strokes of their pen to prevent it
Oh so with out the gesture line it will look stiff because the gesture line is what gives it life not the shape and if the gesture line is off it will look off even if it is right?
Usually the line of action is a guideline that people can use to help plan our what the figure will look like
how do I know what foot does the gesture line follow
In my opinion it would be the leg that's more up in the air, which would be the left one.
What about if the legs are grounded does it matter?
If the legs are grounded gesture can still be present. Think of contrapposto
i always think of it as energy flowing through the figure
and some parts where lines like to line up, its energy concentrating to a point as if a string were attached at that point and pulling the person into that pose
- I just want to note that I'm adding onto the conversation and offering a different viewpoint to help OP navigate their learning!
There are multiple lines running through poses. You may view it as a tool whose goal is to support you!
Example of other artists at gesture
Here's a form of "gesture" . Don't have to focus on specific, nor exact details to communicate to the viewer.
If the gesture is there, then so is the anatomy (details!)
