First step is to choose the right tools
What digital brushes are u currently using?
It's good but stop using so much blue and green
I mean I love the blue and green personallyy but
On your reference there are warner undertones
Or the drawing you made to the right ofnher
soft pastel, sqaure brush, a water brush called "brush one" one hard blending brush and a couple of texture brushes. all ibis brushes
ooooo okay!! thnak youu <3 this is really helpful
I have a lot of brushes that i can give you for the art style you wanted
Also what are the things on those other artists art style you want to incorporate in your art style specifically?
that would be super helpful!!! thank you so much <3 i definitely love the faces, especially the eyes the most!!
the hair rendering on the second one is also really pretty
for the second one, i also really like how soft (?) the face looks. i'm really not sure how to get that effect
For skin
You can also use brush with no texture as long as it's not too dense
Hard blending brush is not good for skin
Use water brush with 100% blending, 100% wetness, and 0% percent dragging
okay!! thank you, illtry that
For the hair
do you have a water brush rec ? mine isnt working
for the skin i mean!!
these are my current brushes
i dont have a good water one for the skin but i feel the square or triangle would work for the hair?
thank you so much for all the help btw <3
Here's the brushes that i use for skin
Nah
It's more convenient to use pointy brush for hair
This one was square brush but the end is pointy
thank you!! the blending for the water brush seems a bit too textured, isthere a way to solve that?
Let me see
these buttom two is about as smooth as i can get them without blur, both with squarebrushes
Is this for hair or skin?
skin right now
skin i think has more blending and hair more hard edges in the reference right?
Yes
i also think it might be better for me to focus on the difference in the anatomy before rthe difference in brushes, my anatomy isnt very good so maybe i should practice that?
Yes
oooo okay!! that makes sense, thank you!!
sinix has a tip to learn with only using hard brush, if i was going to back to the basics just to learn do you think that would help my anatomy / rendering ?
sorry to bother you if its too many questions!
If you are drawing in small canvas like phone then no
Also do not try to attempt to copy the exact workflow of professionals
The way they draw looks easy
But that's only because they already know fundamentals
Sinix is not beginner friendly
I suggest watching proko instead
For sketches no. For rendering/blocking yes
You need to understand structure and how it interacts with light. You keep having eyes, sides of nose, and lips have some depth but once it gets to generic skin, its flat and has zero dimension
I've been looking at this
Is this your drawing?
Or just something you found?
I don't mean to accuse you if you did draw bit but, looking at it, I think it might be ai
In fact I'm fairly certain this is ai
Weirdly detailed sketch, reminiscent of ai "sketches"
Hair isn't twirled around the finger
Weird random red dots?
That and the weird line quality especially around the shadows
Also rhe fact the hair is fully rendered but the hand not drawn, which is odd because the hand goes over the hair? So that just doesn't make sense
And whatever the heck those earrings are
Anyways idk if it matter much but I think, if I were in your position I would want to know lol
No it's not her drawing
Doesn't really matter if ai or not
Since she only upload it here for reference on how she wants her drawing to look like
hello so after comparing your art with the desired art style the difference i see is:
you use strong shadows and contrast-rich shadows, the reference soft shadows
your colors have high saturation and value (rich red, deep black), the reference uses pastel and gradual color transitions - a
your linework is the most different from the reference i guess, the references linework is crisp and clean where yours seems more sketchy
you do the eyebrows detailed whereas both references almost entirely dont render the eyebrows
what both reference examples have a in common is a clean transition from shapes by either clean and readable outlines or color
hope that helps in any way
i think its ai because of the hair and the details, found on pin!! the other is from pin too but i dont think the other one is ai because the hair look manually rendered
sorry about that, i couldnt really tell so i decided to post it anyway since i was looking for something close to the blue image i posted after it :)
thanky you so muchh!!! today im definitely going to back to the fundamentals so hopefully that will help as well
@analog osprey Hey i just saw that the image you shared youre wanting to take inspo from is ai. Please delete this post because we do not tolerate ai in any capacity in this server
