Did I over design

I am making a crab monster that has Royal features on it. What should I take away or add to help make this clearer?

In my opinion, that ornament on top is kind of silhouette disrupting. If you view it in silhouette mode. You can see that the shape design of the cape conveys a solid, bulky, sturdy character, which looks good. But the ornament just looks confusing in my opinion. I don't want to influence the design too much, but my suggestion would be to redo that part.

I made a small example on how I would proceed. I added more boxy but sharp shapes that convey, this character is strong and dangerous. Though I don't know if that's what you're going for.

Keep it up, and it should come together in the end.
