Painting Improvement

Hello! Could anybody provide advice on how to improve this painting? Specifically how to make it look as if the person is really looking down. I feel it looks too flat, and i’d like the floor to look further away. Though general advice is also very appreciated

I reminds me of a story book for kids (i love that)

What I would do is add more contrast with the floor and arms

Maybe cutt off the canvas a little at the left (the person isn’t centered) and maybe the top

So that our eyes are more drawing the hands

Instead of the courner

If you don’t want to do that you can also change the wall’s tone

how do u suggest i add contrast between the floor and the arms? like value or colour?

Im not quite sure for if its value or color i think the colors and values are a bit simmilar
