Character resemblance help

[forest prism]

I drew this freecommision of a grey scale character and I am not sure if I was able to pin down the same character in my style (they provided the color pallete)

The left one is their characetr and the right one is me

[smoky musk]

I think the problem is the hair and the eyes mainly

Try to give the character ur draing the same eye shape as the ref and give ur hair a bit more volume

I also noticed ur ear is a bit high

The ear should start at the eye and end at a he nose but if it is a stylistic choice that is perfectly fine

[forest prism]

Ummm the ear are starting at the eyes tho also I think u understand wrong the colored version is mine and if you are talking about the colored version the ear look right to me

[smoky musk]

Ah sry it just looked a bit high but its ok!

[forest prism]

Wait lemme redline

Hmm?

Ohhh I see it!! Actually TYSM

[smoky musk]

Np!

[forest prism]

R the ears doing their job now?

[smoky musk]

Yea

[forest prism]

The eyes don't look like the same shape as the refrence?

[smoky musk]

No not really

The ref is more thinner

[forest prism]

Ohh the eyelids??

[smoky musk]

The eyes are more angular too

[forest prism]

But isn't that stylistic choice by artist to draw it in their own style I actually hav no clue bout this

[forest prism]

Yea I can see that wait lemme fix in a min

[smoky musk]

Its more of like this

Ignore the random image

[forest prism]

Lol

So I tilt them a lil upward

[smoky musk]

The only mostly white image i have

Yea

[forest prism]

This?

[smoky musk]

Hold up can i liquify?

[forest prism]

Yes!!

[smoky musk]

I try not to overdo it to make the pupil look weird but u see what im going for

IT all depends of style tho

[forest prism]

So this is js artistic style thing?

[smoky musk]

No but it is important to keep the same general eye shape of the character design

[forest prism]

📝

[smoky musk]

Parshly yes

Anyways ur art looks really good!

You should strive to be even better!

Good luck

[forest prism]

Ty !! ^^ I am trying my best rn I look back and I hav improved a lot

So the hair should hav more volume?

[smoky musk]

Eh nah

I think u should add those fluffy thinges tho

[forest prism]

It's js u said that

[forest prism]

Eh???

[smoky musk]

I think those r side burns

[forest prism]
