#Advice for study structuralization

Hi, i've been studying art for over half a year right now, and right now i feel stuck on my actual level. I've gotten to the point, that i think my biggest problem is how i structuralize my studies. Sometimes, i even just open CSP to draw some anime-ish faces without any objective at all. With that, i want to mean that i don't really now what is the best thing to do when taking on a subject, and not just lose time. For example, studying a fundamental. What is enough to jump on to another one, or if i just need the basics and then step back to that one thing when it's necessary. It may be a dumb thing, but i would love an answer to that, since i have little to no time to draw, and i would prefer to not waste that time stupidly. I'll hand over a Drive with all my completed illustrations so the ones reading this can also give advice on what things should I focus, when looking something to study. (also just the recent artwork, as I said, i lost big part of my time just doodling and some of my finished pieces aside from those go back to August 2024) I would appreciate if it was a more general thing. (i got the pecs wrong, so study the torso, kinda)

Show me how you break down the head I've seen the 4 images

i always try to do it this way

smoky marsh
#

That is a pretty good break down but do you roughly estimate where the nose is or where the eyes go?

1 sec

Ah alright, show me a different position using the same technique

tribal falcon
#

an eye was a lil bit offset

smoky marsh
#

Yeah that brow is a little bit to in

You have to also remember that the eye is a ball and the eyelids wrap around that ball

tribal falcon
#

something like this

smoky marsh
#

I wish I had a digital tablet to show you this better

tribal falcon
#

the eyelids would go in the same path as the eyeball

smoky marsh
tribal falcon
#

the eyelids act more as a rubber band than a limiter for the eyeball?

#

i mean

#

the place where you put the eyelid doesn't necessarily be the place where the eye ends

tribal falcon
#

well i myself im a little bit dumb ngl

#

if we fully opened our eyes it would be abnormal

i myself that i draw a lot of bleach characters got this oval ass eye so

#

it makes sense

smoky marsh
#

Nah you good

#

But atleast your understanding

#

To review: Brow fix, Eye fix, maybe nose fix? Do you know the common landmark of the nose?

tribal falcon
#

the tip of the nose lands at the center between the eye and the mouth

smoky marsh
#

Not really its at the center but the mouth is closer, but for stylize reasons like anime they break this rule. But something that all anime artist still follow is that the end of the is aligned with the start of the ear.

tribal falcon
#

i always try to do it that way, the ear starts at the eye and ends at the tip of the nose

#

but sometimes i fck up bcs of perspective

smoky marsh
#

To help with portion can draw a box for the first the draw the head as you normally but have the vanishing point in mind.

tribal falcon
#

i tried something more so you can tell me what do you think

#

and i'll give a shot right away to the cube thing

smoky marsh
#

This is somewhat fine but the eyes do look like stickers so try practice drawing eyes with a sphere to get the feel for it

#

But seeing as you have a tablet you can honestly get an image and break it down with the box method

like, idk lots of things so,i think i have to reestructure my studies in a manner that i don't just think i'm losing my time
