2 and 3 pt perspective requires the objects to all share vanishing points, but what if the two objects have different orientations?

If it has different orientations it adds new points for that second object. This is called multi point perspective

Right, so they'll always meet on the horizon, but will have their own vanishing points along it

Yup. However I advise against doing such a forced perspective for bodies
