I have 2 questions,
What do you want help with, and how long have ytou been practicing?
additoinal question, what kind of charcoal are you working with?
I’ve been practicing for a week, I also need help on making the guidelines without making them too dsrk
I don’t remember I have one pencil, 2 blocks, and some willow sticks
Ah welcome to the craft.
Firstly take things slow and be patient with yourself. Even pros work on something for hours, sometimes weeks before it is done.
Secondly be gentle with your strokes, it will give you more control.
Thirdly since you are so new, focus on simple shapes. Heads, skulls, faces are complex and full of other shapes, attempting them at this point will only crush your will. This is why there are so many paintings of fruit, because they are simple in shape.
I agree. Work like a sculpture is what really helped me with using graphite/charcoal like mediums
