I'm working on more semi realistic shading for this suit and followed a lil folds tutorial, but I feel like it doesn't look detailed enough\like actual folds.
Any critisim?

id recommend searching up references + learning the different kinds of clothing folds as well as defining the location of the light source

Textiles have different textures
Like satin is much more réflective then wool
The more reflective, the more contrast in values you'll get
(Like metal)
Donnt forget highlight follow the flow of the clothes

#

For that kind of suit, no need to put too much contrast

The rendering is really nice here

There's dark shading below the arm for exemple
Put globally, it's subtile

Style isn’t the first thing that should be on your mind. Start with recognizing the basic shape of the objects and remember basic shapes are lot more important than minor detail like folds! The way i painted over your drawing is quite stylized but it’s the same even when you’re trying to achieve semi realistic style.
