Hello! I’m trying to make this rendered, wondering if there are tips and tricks. I’d love it if someone could help me map out the planes of the face for these characters!

Rendering right now is definitely my weak spot when it comes to art. If anyone has lighting source tips and nice rendering brushes with texture that I can find in Clip Studio, that’d be sweet!

I feel like I over blend when I try rendering. I adore the way animators in Spiderverse utilize textures and face planes so I’d love to use that as a frame of reference.

Anyone is allowed to paint over my examples. I placed two cause I have a character without a traditional skin tone cause that gurl made of obsidian lowkey

Hi, you probably know this already but the Asaro head is a great reference for the the planes of the face. Also lots of artists say that looking at Arcane really helped them in that area. It looks like you got a lot of the planes already mapped out with your line art tho. Sorry not sure if this helped at all

if you make your piece greyscale it may help you see where you need to push the depth of colours a bit more

i didn't go too crazy w the edit but as you can see if you have a better defined light source then defining planes might seem more intuitive. i also included a b/w before and after so you can see the contrast better :))
