Good student grade paper are canson, fabriano and strathmore

Arches is really good. Always recommend and its artist grade but way too expensive for someone starting out. Its a good goal to reach tho. To be able to afford it lol

If you’re just starting out with watercolor you should do objects instead of landscapes, it’s easy to focus on a single subject as compared to multiple like trees, skies, it’ll help you figure out ways to use watercolor

Also better quality photos! unless it’s just motion blur from your camera

If you have time to fit in a couple object studies by then you totally should, it’ll help you get the jist of it quicker than trying to do a full out landscape just starting out

Don’t be scared to play around with colors either you can get creative, personally love watercolors because of how you can blend colors

Don’t be scared to get very crazy with them, you’d be surprised what you can do I’ll send an example in my diary I don’t want to flood yours with art

Don’t be scared to go crazy, think of it as trial and error, you’ll learn what colors mix well and look good together

But starting off, do simple object studies, don’t need to do an all out landscape that’s a very big leap

Yeee, also don’t force yourself if you’re feeling out of it, taking small breaks or days to yourself isn’t a bad thing, some people think they have to do studies and art every single day, but that’ll just make them burn out, just a piece of advice from personal experience,I’ll follow your progress closely! 🫶

Yeah if u wanna redo it. Its wet on wet. And the hue shifts downwards and saturation is upped

And then a reflective shadow is on the bottom

Id work on brush weight too. All of ur shapes arent inside ur sphere lines. It all goes out

Id still look into paper that 300+ gsm in weight cuz 140 is p thin if u wanna do more washes/layers
