I'm trying to get better at more realistic portraits, what can I work on?

the eyes dont look like theyre on the same plane as the rest of the face. idk what you mean by realistic but it still looks pretty stylized, albeit in a semirealistic way. if thats what ur going for its fantastic though :))

you should decide on a light source cause now it just looks like shes got crazy hyper pigmentation everywhere
and yea i thiink you should use a ref cause you are missing details like the waterline in the eye (which may be why it looks stylised instead of realistic)

but other than that, your hatching is actually SO good wtf

oh and her nose is crazy small
