This is for my visual novel and for some reason I'm not liking my drawing at all I'm not sure what And I'm trying to find the cool color scheme to do for her, and I'm not that sure what to do. I am trying to inspire her by visual kei, Gothic and victorian styles But for some reason, this character design is so hard for me. I am not sure why it just looks bad.I'm not sure?

have you tried referencing from actual photos? sometimes it can be a bit difficult to come up with a design purely from imagination

also i forgot to mention for the colour thing its good to pick 3 colours and stick to it
like one primary and two secondary colours
it makes a character more recognizable
take naruto for example his primary colour is orange and his secondary is yellow and blue
if im remembering right
u can also apply a 70/20/10 rule to this
but this is rlly optional because ive definitely seen designs with an array of colours that work super well
