Hi
I'd advise you to use all of your canvas and not only a small corner
Its better to exercise your hand on bigger canvas
Hi
Thank you for your advice! I really appreciate your perspective and will definitely keep it in mind for future works

Still Day 1
Like that?
3 days
Sure, give me
So first what program are you using?
Okay! It's really good for a phone users
Do you have stylus with a pressure sensitivity?
Because if not it's well
Harder to improve
Pressure is really important when drawing, so if you don't have a stylus like that just pencil and paper is going to work better
That good?
That good or nah?
I don't think it has a pressure sensitivity

I've tried it now and it's not good
You csn start with just pencil and paper, a d then just buy a better pen
Traditional art is also very beautiful
Ok, i will try traditional art

?
Here
Okay, I will watch the video
The thing is to exercise the way it's explained there
I mean it's kind of like thya
Art is a lot of practice
But it's important to have fun also
idk if that good or no
Lesson 1
(Drawbox style)
Day 1
i forget tell you i have pc if that better then traditional art
To draw on pc you need to have a graphic tablet
But I know there are cheap one without a screen
Its a nice thing to have when you want to draw digitally
Okay so since you're a beginner I'd recommend using reference photos even for easy shapes
I'm a beginner to but I can draw a box from my imagination only but when learning it's good to see what are we want to do
Ok, i will try that, thanks you
Yeah, ik but that will be hard
All I found in matters of seconds:)
I know it seems kind of boring but these are basics everyone needs to have
But I'd say while you need to exercise you need tovhave fun at the same time so don't be scared of drawing your favourite characters, animals, oc, everything you like :)
Art is a lot of fun
Ye
You can draw humans but I'd start from easy shapes while exercising
And humans just for fun
Actually you found my art diary and I started drawing faces 40 days ago
You can see my progress there
You see the box here is really flat
Because it doesn't have any shadow
It's for an advertisement more than to study
Use photos like this
Can you give me video talk about shadow
Well you see photos like that are made with a lot of light sources, so they won't have shadows and every detail on the packaging will be visible
On the other hand, photos like this thanks to a clear light source, aren't flat
You're showing depth through the shadows and highlights in drawings
Try drawing one of these
Mayhe the triangle qt first
Ok, i will try
A beginner artist who is trying to improve. (day 2)
Okay I'll help you out in the morning okay? It's late for me
👍
I tried to imitate you, but you are too far away for me
Good night
Today I will learn to draw seriously
Maybe try using thinner lines
2 filled pages of the Superimposed Lines exercise
1 filled page of the Ghosted Lines exercise
2 filled pages of the Ghosted Planes exercise
Should I start with that?
Ok
This is harder than I expected
Ok
A beginner artist who is trying to improve. (day 3)
Ok lets start
Ok that so bad i will try again
Ok that better
One more and I will go to next step
Ok that very good
For me
Now next step
Hi
soooo yes?
I just do everything the course tells me
ah kk
Hold on, may i show my traditional art for helping purposes?
I'm not an expert, but you can wait for @balmy jasper and and ask him about anything
hold on a sec, what are you have trouble doing tradintional art wise?
Yes remember to take your time, there's no need to rush
The problem I face is that I cannot do super imposed correctly

So posing?
Sorry, i just woke up
Ye
I can help with that! here is a stick figure of one of my characters
i try that before
Poses and figures are something you want to to worry about kater
Then lets start at the first part of drawing, faces (aka the upper half of the whole art piece)
Uusally this is the bust part, so where we sorta see the shoulder and we see the neck bone
Some artists do breasts at the bust part, but i just stick to neck bone
Ok i will try that in digital
hold on, its better in traditional if you want, do you have a pencil and paper lying around?
Ye
perfect, so, we want this to fill half of the paper just like i did in my example
but you can also to the whole paper if you want detai, but wer just trying to get to the point of 'I know how to do this part)
Yeah! That looks great so fair, but make sure not to make it to tiny, or else you cant draw upper half details.
Ok
What now?
alright, try and make the best straight lines of where you want the eyes and mouth to go, i'll show a example before you do it tho, just gimme a sec

ok, great
so, next step is making a head format (Its not always a good idea to start with a head first!)
That only think i can do
not like that- i ment when your even starting making art, its great to start with the circle. not with the head formatted already
Hold,on, i'll show example
once you have made the head shape you want, remove the guide lines for the head section (dont remove the eye/mouth placement guide lines tho@)
?
Oh
Ok wait i will try
Like that?
Fantastic!
Your a fast learner
ok, were gonna take a break from the head, and to the bust, are you making a boy or a girl character?
Ladys first
ok, good to know, so, were gonna start with the neck, i'll show example
and on top of the neck, (Not literally) were also gonna thinken the arms a bit, to give it some life
You mean here?
yep
Ok i will try
like saturn said, take your time.
That one bad ik
ok, pro tip, start with stick figure arms before you go over it with thickness.
Hold on, just try it without thick ness, just make stick figure arm like my example
Ok wait
Ok
ok, so we got this right?
Ye
Ok
because this part is bending, we need to make a lip so we can see that part is bending.
great. now, i'm personally not good at drawing fingers, but i do know how to draw Decent fingers
Ok
That good?
Hold on, i hav a hand tip
another thumb tip, make the pocket where the thumb is gonna go before you even consider making the thumb
ok, I'm prob gonna take a break form teaching, I'm also multitasking something else, but use would you have learned to make a cool character ❤️
Ok, thank you so much
I will start in an hour and a half
Ok
Lets go
First : Make a straight line with a ruler and go over it following the same path free-hand
Well it's a skill that take a lot more time than 3 days
My sister in first try...
- should I go to next step?
1 filled page of the Ghosted Lines exercise
You can take a break or learn making confident lines by exercising perspective
Someone challenged me to do this and I did it but it's not perfect
Make the cubes darker so they won't vanish eith the guide lines
And maybe try not using ruler?
Ots a nice training
in video he use ruler but i will try dont use that
Yes but since you want to train your hand you can try without it
It's good to try a new exercise
It's also an eye training, you need to be sure that you understand what you're doing
ok tomorrow I will finish lesson 1 part 1
A beginner artist who is trying to improve. (day 5)
It's okay you can do other things besides that course
Also you can try 1 point perspective
Ok that will be easy then that ig
Thank you for introducing me to drawbox
Np :)
I won't post anything today
Honestly up to you, I like mechanical pencils but I'm not really a traditional artist
It's good for doing sketched
For shading better get yourself a soft 6b pencil
I reccommend getting it, but you pencil will do lots of sharp lines
But for sketches why not
That's why it's for sketches mainly
and thats why i use it 👌
When i can do that I will get that
But for now. steadler mechanical pencil better
Aure
Thanks
@cerulean edge @balmy jasper
When I was a tradi buying new drawing stuff always motivated me in some way
Eventually I will move on digital
