oops
didn't gif correctly
give me a sec
noticed i have 0 idea how to export a video from krita
gonna have to make do with obs
Nice
But very little
Fundamentals actually implemented
What were you aiming for with this one?
honestly? just rotating the cube around, added making it into a sphere at the end because i wanted to do more
i might suck....
I would recommend taking Down the frame rate so we can see what’s going on a bit better
No this is fine
ok give me a second again
Probably should be faster tbh
I think rube rotations should probably be done statically first before dropping it
yeah the og one is at 65%
With a fall/bouncing ball, we’re looking for 2 things.
Slow fast.
i thought it would be fun so i did it, became very clear that i need to do it statically first, thank you
You know how to make things slow, you know how to make things faster right?
It looks pretty good, the first couple flaws are that the cube’s lines are very scratchy which makes it kinda hard to tell what you’re looking at, also the speed is a bit off.
i was thinking of incorporating the scratchiness into my future art style because i was born with messed up wrists and they're still messed up to this moment
i cannot draw straight for my life
yeah, by adding more or less frames, right?
Somewhat… but we can also think of it in spacing
How much space a subject moves each frame
yeah i meant that, as in you use less frames for the same amount of movement therefore it appears faster
So to make it slow, we need the subject to move only a little bit each frame.
And to make it fast, it needs to kove more
It’s probably the same result but its a way you can see it differently, anyways why is this important.
If I hold a cube, drop it, it’ll accelerate to the ground
Which means it needs to go from slow to fast.
So start with small movements, and then gradually increase the speed until it hits the ground.
im also a beginner but what helped me draw better and straighter lines were the first lessons of draw a box
That’s the animation side of it, now for the rotation . Cube rotations are some of the trickiest things in animation, but they’re much more about perspective.
I’d recommend getting at least 3 point perspective down before animating it coz its rly rly complex.
For something falling, I’d recommend this be it’s relative path.
Start slow, get faster, and then hit the ground and squash a bit.
mhm, i was trying to build off the techniques in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUcYTAiCQyQ since i saw it and thought it was helpful. i might need to practice earnestly instead of experimenting because things won't work out great otherwise for now

...
thank you a lot for all the help
ok i sorta uh, suck at this for now, right path?
Vanishing points
What are they, why do things converge
alright do i look up vanishing points? because that is knowledge i lack
Hehe that would gelp
The Simple idea is that
- as things go far away, it gets smaller.
Now imagine standing in the midle of train tracks and looking far
What you would see looking down the trzcks, is that The train tracks would converge into a point in the horizon
It vanishes in the horizon, The vanishing point
i see, i get the idea
Now the train tracks don’t actually touch at the end, they’re still perfectly parallel
But that gives us a guide, into how much things should converge
If you look at any parallel lines or objects irl, you would see a slight convergence
Anyways, there’s more to this and there are several videos out there about it
Just too much for me to type tbh lol
true
But searching up Perspective basics and stuff can be helpful
can you tell me what you think i did right and what do you think i did wrong, so i can try reinforcing the good things and working on the bad
i know i didn't work on vanishing points but i want to know if there's anything further than that
ofc if it wouldn't bother you
You’re drawing that’s great for me
Too many people focus too much on theory and never draw
For you though I would recommend doing a little more research
ok, so i should research vanishing points, anything else i should research?
You’ll likely end up learning about 1 point, 2 point and 3 point perspective.
3 point perspective would be a good goal to aim for.
i see, thanks again
Being able to draw a bunch of cubes and having it feel like it’s in the same image and not seperate floating entities, that’s another goal
Still, perspective learning differs from person to person. You may take a while, you may be very quick.
So keep at it and have fun :)
Mix in some fun stuff by drawing object in your room or doing whatever
honestly learning how to draw and rotate boxes in perspective is really helpful
at least thats what ive heard
then the next step could be cylinders or any 3d shape
Heres the video that I found to be the most helpful

Hey there, Liron here! This will be a 1/3 video serie...
here, i tried doing some basic 3 point stuff it might've not gone perfect because i freehand everything and i still don't have the hand eye coordination to accurately use my plug-in drawing tablet but i think i did something at least, i don't think i did it well in theory either though. one pic is with the squares hidden and the other shows the squares and the points (i looked it up and they told me to try using squares to guide myself for doing more angular structures)
and now i'll work on this
it seems fun to do another animation of the cube just spinning even though it will NOT be good in terms of animation
just do what u like man
Honestly im finding a balance between what i like to draw and what i need to draw
yeah, im mainly asking here because i want to show y'all my progress and ask if im on the right track (i've said this exact thing 3 times in this thread, i need to be more creative)
hahahaha dw
honestly im basically in the same path as u
i have some experience bc ive tried this shi out before but It didnt work out
really
after u see the video that I sent u
U Will be able to draw some things in perspective
i've tried before but i never really tried to learn from other and more tried to figure out my own style, but of course that was when i was younger (14 or less)
so i think im new at learning but not really at art?
i could say the same
like ive always loved the art behind mangas and all that
thats the reason i started drawing
even better, more inspiration
music, sculptures, drawings, paintings, etc.
i recommend this but also not at the same time
a course named draw a box
its free but its extremely dense
It was the reason as of why i stopped drawing
i saw u struggle with cubes and 3d shapes
my artist's self esteem could not be lower so i don't think there'll really be an effect
so i would start with the video i just sent u
And from there learn 1,2,3 point perspective or at least how It works
And then start practicing
alright! thanks! im gonna make that cube animation now
Oh trust me
It can get lower
aight cool i Will be waiting for it
also if u want some extra motivation
u can update this Channel every day bc i said u wanted to post ur progress
Like my art journey day 1
sort of uh, got bored at one point and made it ouroboros
well not bored, more like confused
yeah so from what i see
you struggle with the perspective
so very simple
if u are looking from above
the cube appears to be shorter
meanwhile if u look from underneath
It Will look a bit bigger
the lines should always converge to the vanishing point
true, though my intention was to rotate it in place, with it being a solid cube with no holes
yeah but it looked a bit wonky
that might have been messed up by my uh, refusal to use a virtual ruler or a real ruler
no need to use it
remember that all the lines should converge
I looked at the animation and In some frames
some lines were just pointing away from each other
but thats ok
that comes with practice
yeah i remembered just now, i was preoccupied just tracing the cube and rotating it while traced so it would take up the same amount of space
of course tracing it from the last onion layer
ohhh i see
well try it again
maybe u do It better now
cant really explain the fundamentals of animation in one message
u should lower the frames per second tho that cube is spinning way too fast
also the shape of thr cube remains very inconsistent thru the animation
Alright give me a 1 point drawing, then 2 point then 3 point
The fundamental stuff might seem boring but they’re called fundamentals for a reason
alright, i'll do that in a bit because my little brother's asking to do an animation in my pc
here's a retry of the cube thing, might have made it weird but i got the idea. i think.
Much better
but they still dont converge
It looks better tho for sure
true but that's more of an issue of me eyeballing everything
coming right up, one sec
rough but it's there
i do NOT draw well
yet
u cant just eyeball everything-
i uh
do
should i not
makes it feel more lighthearted and free
