i dont like the texture of the rust right now and i dont know how to make it look more worn and i need help because metal is hard and i suck

Do you have a reference of this? It definitely helps rather than to rely on imagination when you dont have much you can imagine due to a not built visual library

Well most of the time when metal that has been painted is rusting the paint is peeling due to the metal underneath corroding.

It doesnt need to be a reference of specifically a rusty box car, but definitely should be of something similar that is rusting
