I'm pretty rusty but felt like getting back into art. Ik this piece isn't done but I've been staring at it for too long and have no clue what to do, even flipping it isn’t giving me a new perspective

I paint like I'm sculpting so no line work, I tend to mold forms and values until it's right but I've hit a dead end so would love feedback

have you tried looking at it in black and white? our eyes have WAY more cones (detect light v dark) than rods (detect differences in hue), which means a lot of the time when you're stuck on a piece, b&w can help you see where you might need to touch up on value

Woah thank you I completely forgot abt greyscale value checking, I'm probs gonna leave it to tomorrow to see if time passing helps too but I'm so gonna try that!
