Hi . I have been struggling for the past 3 weeks to find anyone to commission me . I lower my prices to 5- 10 $, im considering going even lower.

I wanna earn some money even just a little from my art just to live by.

This is my first time opening commission and i also have college assignments so i only open to inking/line-art + flat color for super cheap just to get some experience and feedback.

My TAT is 1-2 weeks ( i wonder if my TAT is turning people off )

I NEED HELP. Please tell me what i did wrong.
( I have some art examples below , please help me . I just wanna know why i dont get any commissions )

Honestly unless youve already made a huge name for yourself you cant really expect people to be lining up to commission you. It also requires you to be marketing yourself frequently and not just simply posting pics now and then. Theres a lot of artists out there and you need to find some way to make yourself stand out

Do you have socials ? As a self selling artist you need to advertise yourself across multiple platforms. Selling Art is a competition with all other artists of the world. You need to stand out among them all. You need to have popularity to shine a spotlight on you. You also need the skills to be able to follow client instructions. 1-2 weeks really is a long time tho. 1 week max is what i would wait on an unknown artist. 2 weeks even months is understandable from popular pro artists.

I used to sell 5$ full body comms with way less skill then you. I got a good amount of buyers. But I purposely hang out with internet communities of people who liked my style. A style I chose to appeal to them. I started by giving away free comms then later started selling.

#

So thats another thing you could do is hang with the type of people who would like your style. Or you have to style your art to appeal to a crowd you think would buy.

on Pinterest?! noo buddy worst place really

#

Pinterest is like a really nice idea board. Not really for boosting your popularity

Make socials for Twitter,Instagram,Deviant art,Newgrounds, Facebook and even reddit. Find a community and start talking. Making connections. As much I dislike it. Selling art is also alot of talking with strangers,

Deviant art isnt really a good place to post anymore. Its kinda become where ai art goes as well as nsfw content

#

Personally i recommend instagram and tiktok

I mean you can if you want but to stay in the algorithm you gotta be reposting stuff you like that also is similar to what you make as well as doing a lot of other things. I feel insta and tiktok are simpler(still has work of their own you need to do tho)

#

If you genuinely want to do twitter then do twitter. Its just not my recommendation

I say do it all. Its just alot of work reposting everywhere but different platforms attract w/e people hang there

I really dont recommend trying to do all socials at once. It gets really stressful. Trust me ik. You can gradually increase your socials if you want but its not 100% necessary

In that case then thats your best bet. Twitter is the only one im aware of that doesnt have anything against nsfw content in the community rules
