I think it may be that the lower torso suggests it being extremely top down but the upper torso suggests front facing. Have more of the lower torso showing so that way it looks more natural

main thing im seeing is the posing is a bit stiff. the torso can be turned more downwards to emphasize the crouching. the facial exp can be more exagerated too for a more anime/manga feel.

what you got going is good but it can be pushed more
