how can i make my art feel less flat/empty? to me it feels corporate or almost like disney-esque/webtoon-y and i'd really like to be able to draw more intense topics/feelings without my personal style taking away from the concept or watering down the actual emotion. yes i know the hands are too small sorry

You can remember how big the hand is by face palming hehe
For me the bottom my palms on the chin, ends up with my fingers on my forehead…. Or smth I should check the mirror

Details are a really good way to add more intensity but the key is to organise Complex vs Simple.
If you look at the really masterful artists, I think many of them know how to use swathes of empty space as well as more detailed spaces to add that feeling of “resolution”.
The contrast can help build a focal point too. If the face and hands are the only thing without lines, and everything else is lines, the contrast would lead the eye to the face.
