Going to try and post everything- Digital, traditional, whatever I make!
I want to make a portfolio so I can work as a concept artist in the industry. I graduated with a BFA and I've done some work for organizations and events designing shirts, posters, characters, etc.
(Idk if that makes me intermediate or professional)

I went to art school and graduated with a BFA in 2024, which was awkward because I didn't realize until my senior year that all my friends were BAs so I was the only one who had to do a senior thesis?
I did some work for an organization during that time, basically designing custom superhero alter egos for geologists are formatting them into posters and merch. I also designed shirts for screenprinting and block printing for local events, which was pretty cool.
I'm clasically trained traditionally, I can weld and draw and shit, but digitally I'm self taught .3.

They asked for some changes. This is a frequent client who often does, which I'm fine with and appreciate because I find revisions fun! And I'm actually so happy they did? I fucking love this design and I'm a little too pleased with myself for making it .3.

So before going into Art I was looking into three other major fields of study- Forensics, Engineering, and History I actually really love anthropology and researching? Like going deep diving for easter eggs and things to hide in designs is so fun to me.

My pirate zombie boy? He has so many piercings because pirates used to wear jewelry to be pilfered from their carcasses and used to pay for funerals. It implies the poor boy died, but never had a funeral. He also has this very gradual shift from purple coats to blue coats during the story?
Because red is the color associated with the other halves of his previous toxic relationships- both people who kinda forced him to subdue his personality and hide his identity for their convenience. Blue is not only 'his' color, but also the color of the undead-hating cleric who becomes his bestie.
So he goes from purple to blue cause he's removing his abusers from his identity and coming into himself, keeping red bits here and there to remember them.

They wanted me to include purple. Purple is my problem color. I do not get along with purple. I can NEVER use it correctly, it just doesn't look good alongside anything imo? Whatever color theory says, I don't believe it. Purple isn't a real color, it's a goddamned menace to society (and my tricones).

AHHHH i love your ocs lore, its so well thought out!! i aspire to make a lot of research for my ocs at some point, thinking about meaningful clothing, jewelry, even hairstyle or scars is so fun, putting little trinkets into their design that allude to their lore is cool as hell 😼 also your artstyle is so pretty,,,

Ty!!! Planting little lore/historical Easter eggs is so fun. Definitely worth a shot! If your lore involves any sort of real life cultures or social group, it's doable.

OKAY SO I primarily consider myself a horror and fantasy artist- I enjoy doing a lot of body horror (and sometimes gore). BUT I mainly have been getting commissions for designs. I FINALLY GOT A HORROR COMM AND I'M SO EXCITED I SKETCHED THIS IN LIKE 20 MINUTES

I feel like Something is off with the colors? I know for a fact I need more contrast to give the subject depth, but whenever I try adding shadows it just looks muddy. Maybe adding a gradient map first? The scene is supposed to be snowy, so I don't want too much color- I literally live in one of the snowiest places in the U.S. I should know how to make something look like it's cold lol

Something about this rendering just ain't it, which is odd since I'm using more textured brushes. I could also just be tweaking, but even the areas that have been rendered look too flat.

A while back I had this idea for a serial comic about working retail- kind of clerks. It was going to be this sort of surrealist comedy thing where customers were depicted as Lovecraftian fish people and the clerk was human?
My point is some of the things in said comic were extremely specific pet peeves of mine (customers moving slow, hovering, mistaking you for somebody else) which took away from the point of the commentary so I scrapped it. I still have concept art for it lying around, and I'm always tempted to revisit the idea after a bad day at work.
