Im still trying to learn proportions, but sometimes when drawing some stuffs that are a little more complicated with details (mechs for example) I get overwhelmed with how I'll start and which shape. A help/guide and examples would be greatly appreciated!

There are 2D graphical shapes and 3D shapes, both are really useful so don’t discount one or the other.

For mechs, you’d want to get rly used to 3D cubes and prisms. Realise that anything can be broken into cubes and cylinders.

Start big and get the main perspective angles. If an arm is point towards the camera, you need to be able to draw a minecraft steve arm pointing towards the camera.

Then it becomes easier to draw using those big shapes as guides.

I always think if I can’t visualise the angle in my head, then I break it down into simpler shpes

So i might know how to draw the deltoid and forearm muscles, but in some angles it’s confusing.

So i’d break it down into cylinder. If i can do that, i break it down into rectangles.

This means I should already know how to move cubes in different angles ya

Okay! I can visualize them sometimes. But I do get hard times when I'm trying to replicate my references. I'm not sure how I'll properly shape them basing on the images because the detail overloads my brain. Sometimes I just can't get a feel of how big/small I'll make a certain shape is...

Heya, sorry for replying late. But proportions have been the bane of my existence... I just feel like i draw the line... Felt too long, erase, draw again... Felt too short. I'm sure y'know what I mean right? I just can't get it right.
