As I continue with coloring and rendering her face, I know it’s supposed to be ashy and firey, but I can’t help but think her face is looking weirder and more drained than I intend it to be. Does anyone have any tips? I haven’t done anything with complex lighting yet

The darkest color I’m using is a dark purple

#

Where should I add the highlights? I already have a few on her face

#

the ones on her face looks like paint. id use yellow for the highlights

#

they should follow the lights in the back

#

unless theres another light source?

The light source is mainly fire, behind the camera and behind the standing man

#

I’m yet to add their effects to make it more obvious

add more warm lights then coming from the fire

There’s an outlined sketch I haven’t rendered which is that yellow stuff in the back but that’s far ish

theres no semblance of another light source apart from the light in the back

Oh yeah not atm

#

I’ve done a little more right after I posted before I went for dinner

#

she looks dead because theres no warm colour on her skin

teal forge
#

Well

#

Judging by the sword through her heart

#

She’s low key a little dead

sweet ibex
#

did she just get stabbed?

#

it takes a while for a body to lose its warmth

teal forge
#

She was stabbed a good amount of time before the painting but not like too too long

#

Def over 15 minutes which was what Google says the time it takes to lose color

sweet ibex
#

then she looks fine 🤷‍♀️

Oh okay
