#Can't find a ref for "pool of blood" so gonna need some outside perspective

Now there's not a lot of human blood pools (for obvious reasons). But, there are animal blood references.
Take this for example.
Pig's blood is quite similar to human blood, so you can assume that it's going to react the same way. And since animal blood is used in cuisine worldwide.. We can use that instead! ๐
Here's also some oxygenated and deoxygendated blood. So, depending on how your storytelling the painting, you could change the brightness of the blood.
generally the blood will take longer to oxygenate when exposed directly to oxygen since it has to penetrate layers of blood. Compared to the lung capillary that is so thin that the blood itself is thin in said capillary - so oxygen has an easier time oxygenating.
So you could say, that the blood is dark red when coming out of the persons mouth, and then begins to trickle and flow down into the somewhat lighter, oxygenated blood. Keep in mind that the surface blood is oxygenated - but the air still needs to penetrate through to the deoxygenated blood so it will still be somewhat dark (because of subsurface scattering). But this is me assuming logically. Not factually. Also, I think there are some videos but when you pump air into blood, the air has an easier time oxygenating the blood.
here's another example. Pig's blood used in irish cooking ๐
buttt that's my two cents and something I would consider when doing this kinda drawing. Keep in mind I just did like a quick two minute research but I would've done more lol.
However, the painting still looks awesome! And I hope to see it finished! ๐

Don't mean to be a mini mod but there's no warnings when it comes to the gore showing pools of blood is not appropriate
Please use #๐ฉใปsupport if you need any staff assistance!
bruh rip
Read !nsfwgore for more info on gore rules.
@lime rose feel free to reupload with a spoiler and a written warning for gore
can op post the image again?
Oh crap I'm really sorry, there's a lot of channels on this sub so I genuinely didn't know where to look for guidelines for stuff like this, thanks for telling me
I guess it was pretty bold of me to just assume that everyone would just be fine with this lol I'll be sure to add a warning
Yeah sure just wait for a moment while I add back the warning
Ok wait do I have to basically repost the entire thing again? I tried editing the post but there's no option to change the tags to "gore" or to repost my image
Just post the image here
It's the only image in the thread, it's fine
Not considered gore: insignificant, cartoony or plainly rendered blood.
Considered gore: heavily rendered blood, missing limbs, severe body horror to the point where the user can be uncomfortable with the content. Requires a spoiler and a written warning. Not allowed in Social Avenue, allowed in mature voice chats.
Not allowed at all: severe gore, terrorism level gore including highly detailed renders of guts, detailed body horror.
For gore rules stuff
Thanks a lot
I really appreciate the science facts lol, I tried doing some research on blood too but science in general as a descriptor isn't enough for me to visualize it, especially because I kind of want to make the blood here anatomically correct, I guess right now given what you've told me I could either make the rippling of the blood darker or add in some highlights
I thought about that too, I was just wondering where in general since highlight isn't exactly evenly distributed in blood
Maybe on some areas of the bloody faces? Or more around the white face?
around the faces, like waves on puddles yknow?
Yeah I get that, too bad there isn't much reference for bloody faces lol, I guess I'll have to be creative with it and just see what fits
blood is basically just water. im sure theres water refrences somewhere
Do you need help with putting a spoiler on? Are you on mobile?
Yeah I do actually, I've been trying to figure it out for a while but I can't find a way to tag a warning to it, I don't use discord much unless on dms so I'm kind of a boomer when it comes to stuff like this
Also I'm on computer
Blood is thicker actually, it does move like water in the way they're both fluid but the highlights are gonna be different, which is an issue because finding refs for water is easy but for blood it's a whole different thing
Press the eye icon to add a spoiler, and then just write "Image contains blood" or anything along those lines
Done it, thanks for the help again
Also I have a question, I understand that in the rules listed for gore it says like extreme gore isn't allowed, but what might the channel constitutes as "extreme" gore? I feel like we may have some differences on this because my definition of gore is more on the heavy side so I wanna make sure some parts are clear
Like would you consider let's say cutting off all limbs extreme gore? What about intestines spilling out?
Sometimes I draw gore so I wanna know before I post any of my horror art here

Read above
To pull up the command you can always do !nsfwgore
What do I do
Oh don't worry no you're good it's my fault I was the one overreacting
No I wasn't apologizing for that lol it's just the rules of posting gore slipped my head lol ๐
You were being reasonable actually, I'm always in spaces where gore is like.... not expected but there's no regulation for it, I forgot some spaces don't allow gore without tw lol
