Looks amazing, honestly could sell that for a good amount ngl.
I think I might be the ear that seems a bit off
right here seems a lil messed up
you have to know what and where is your light source, knowing what color is the light source like warm, neutral, or cool and knowing how that light will reflect and impacting the colors of the character.
for instance, you have a lot of reds (from the light) on the face yet that redness/warmness disappears??, that color isn't anywhere else or emphasize enough even though the light is hitting the shoulder, try to add enough warm to overall person not just at the face
like the example above, you could see how warm light reflecting on the woman, the circles are just examples how there is still warm and balancing all of the rest of the colors yk. there are other parts that I didnt add circle but you could see it yourself where that warmness hits
Honestly the only thing I see off is the ear
you dont see the shirt issue ._.
I see it now!
The skin or the brush strokes? The brush strokes are just a style choice :) but if it looks odd I’ll fix it haha
Okay thank you so much, this is super helpful!! I didn’t even see it. I really appreciate it! <3
Yeah the ear has been bugging me as well. Should I fix the placement or the ear itself do your think?
Oop- What shirt issue? Is it the straps or where her chest is?
Thank you! I really appreciate it 🫶🏻. I still have a long way to go to fix it haha
I think both, the placement seems a bit off, it might even be a bit too big. And the colors could be changed
Good point! It’s a bit too red and dark. I’ll change the placement for sure. Maybe a bit lower?
Or further behind if that makes sense
I was thinking a bit higher honestly, and a bit more back
if the ear is an issue, you could just hide with the hair
^
Gotcha! I can definitely do that 🫡 thank you for the input!
You’re welcome! I think it’ll look better after up
Yo ngl the thought definitely crossed my mind but it looked off without an ear 😭. Maybe cover the ear a lil with hair strands?
Also with how the sun is on the shoulder, the ear would be lit up some too
Like the top parts
Haha that’s a brilliant comparison. Gives me a much better visual of what to do 🫡
Oooo I like that! I’ve play around with it and see what I can do. Thank you for the ideas :)
Ignore my face but here I am directly under light (which I assume is how the drawing is supposed to be just looking at the reflections of the light) you can see how the top part is pretty light
Omg I thought it said pop tarts 😭 nvm my previous mesg
LMAO
THANK YOU!!
STUNNING AND SUPER HELPFUL 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
You’re welcome, just make the bottom a bit darker than how my ear looks. It’s just that light on the bottom because my other light
Aww thank you 🥹
I will, thank you a million times 🫶🏻
Ofc 🥹❤️
If you pm me I can get you a better reference pic in like 10 mins when I get home
Omg I’d love that’s thank you. It’s no rush at all, take your time :)
That art looks so gooddd i wish i could draw like that
Thank you so much! It’s taken me ages to get to this level and I’m still learning as I go :)
jezz, aren't we perfectionists? the pic looks totally fine to me, maybe the ear is a bit misplaced but the whole pic compensates, some areas are messy, but that's supposed to be like that, i am scared how perfectionists we are as artists, having finished drawings then coming back later and find stuff (i also do the same) some mistakes in proportions can be ignored because the whole pic is consistent in technique color etc, overall to me it's good, don't stop drawing!
Hmm, it looks fine but maybe we can learn why it looks off until we're satisfied. In reality there isn't a rush or a specific time to stop fixing mistakes in your art. So if they want to keep working on it, they should be working on it. I don't think this painting is finished as long as the artist believes that. Being a perfectionist isnt bad unless the artist isn't enjoying the process.
I feel like if they want more things to fix and learn from, it isn't that bad
i didn't saw it was bad to be like this, i said i was too, i just want to say something differente besides what everyone else says since there's not much to add
i have unfinished drawings, projects etc
i am on the same boat, it was more of a thought on my part
Oh I see, understood. Thanks for sharing your thoughts
I misunderstood on my part a bit, but it's nice to see your side anyway
i love drawing, i can talk about it all day, any topic, REALLY ANYTHING so, you will probably see more like that, sorry haha
under her armpit the strap doesnt go where it looks like its going
Oh I see! Thank you. I can’t believe I didn’t see that sooner 😭 it’s so obvious now haha
Made some slight adjustments to my piece! Fixed the shirt of the left and added some freckles but idk how I feel on them tbh.
I also changed the eye color from green to blue but I don’t know which one looks nicer. And tips or critique would be super helpful :)
Also I turned down the highlight on her cheeks from the original (should be at the top of the thread) should I leave it or add the highlight back?
I removed the freckles
add highligts back
slightly lighter green eyes
and under her armpit the strap still looks a lil weird
