I keep hearing that I’m talented when I ask people for advice instead of criticism and help. I’d really appreciate some feedback or criticism please don’t hold back
#I want to take my art to the next level what do I need to work on/practice

Yes, they said right u are talented
The thing abt your art is that u have many thin lines like the first, 3rd and, 5th pieces
Try incorporating more variation in thickness of the lines like u did in the 2nd one
The 2nd one is more appealing to the eyes (idk y but the dark and light contrast work great)
Also I think u can take inspiration from aot and JJK manga artists who draw gore for the characters, the black one with the smile character is great and i think it can be emphasized more
I think u should also watch empty space vids on yt, the empty and simple balloons in the 2nd are great
Yeah my favorite one is the second but the first one is my most recent but was mostly me trying out some new stuff but you’re right I should’ve stuck to the thickness of the lines in the second pic
Do you know any good YouTubers for empty space?
Thanks again for all the advice. I truly appreciate it.
This is incredibly stylized, and i love it sm jsyk, so it'll be hard to give what specific feedback you need.
Try to look up INSPIRATIONS or references. No doubt that there's millions of art with a style like yours, all unique and different in their own way. Seeing other styles like that can help you reinforce more techniques (Cross-hatching, dots, etc.). I suggest looking on pinterest as a basic start!
It seems your art has stories and symbols on them so thats also good! Convey what you wanna conveyyyy

i have the most basic advice but it should do
ah yes you can also play around with negative and positive space, as well as symmetry and asymmetry actually
Thanks for the basic advice that’s truly what I need right now when I get advice it’s either just super advanced or asking me to add things like colors and stuff. I’m going to do some research on the negative and positive space because from what I’ve heard my piece with the corn lady uses it well and is my best art so far. Do you know any good YouTube channels that teach negative and positive space? Thank you again for taking time to give me feedback.
Happy to help 🤗

If u ever want to study detailing cuz I think it will look great with your style of art
How often do we not draw a scene that really appeals to us because parts of it are just too full of detail we know we could never draw properly? Hear the secrets of an artist with a reputation for capturing detail effectively. The principles are demonstrated with a field of flowers, but with additional explanation after that, with a detailed in...
I was thinking of making my art on some bigger pieces of paper so detailing would def be useful to not make my hands cramp up and die
Haha as I said before check out gore manga artists, they're a great way to study that
Hajime isayama is one of the best
Yeah I’ve been getting into this manga called vagabond but I’ll definitely check hajime isayama’s works out
If u have webtoon u should also check out "spore" there and nocturnal
Noice
Manga artists definitely have my respect for how much work they make In so little time
My pleasure
oop i didnt see the reply, but belle has given a solid video!
you have a lot of potential and i wish you nothing but the best for your art 🫶 manga definitely also is great references especially those heavily detailed ones
actually im genuinely curious on how your art goes on from here, do you have socials i can follow? like instagram maybe?
Same i would love to follow u too
Nah sorry I kinda gave up social media it was taking up a lot of my time and energy discord is the only one I really kept cuz It’s pretty easy to find people to play video games with. But if I ever do make an account you guys will def be the first to know
what is your inspiration?
Honestly my dad and I went to a museum and this sweet old Mexican lady offered me a handmade poncho and the design on the front made me want to draw something like it
So I started researching Mexican culture and european and patterns kept showing up that seeing so I tried putting as much of the patterns as I could
On a piece of paper and wanted to make a story about a man who sold his eye for a seashell he thought was pretty while being stalked by a cannibal and that’s how I made my first one
My dad said he liked it so I kept making more
Sorry for the rant
Here’s the poncho
das deep.
well given your inspiration and your story I believe you have enough research on what you want to make.
honestly speaking I have no idea how and where to improve your style as it is.
do you draw your background with purpose? like does it mean anything or is it just there to highlight the storyline.
Nah not really I just like the way it looks and makes it easy to get lost in
My favorite pieces of art are ones you can stare at for hours and just lose yourself in
That’s what makes Tv shows and manga and even food so great
Mostly for my backgrounds I just draw a random shape and fill it in with what I think I looks like for example on my newest one I drew the moon first and realized the shape outside the moon looked like a smiling face so I filled it in with a shadow man smiling
I got nothing man
good luck tho
