In an attempt to figure out what is wrong with me and my art I went and redrew some stuff from around two years ago. I want to know if there are any past mistakes that I keep making in the present or if I developed new bad habits that need to be fixed. What should I focus my efforts on? Is there something I need to relearn completely? I'm tired of sucking at art and I desperately need to progress, go hard on me. Please 🥺

Hey you do a really good job job drawing characters sketching wise just as good as me it looks to me that what you should focus more on is inking. Make sure youre using thicker lines in areas that are more important, silhouettes, and major shapes. You also should work on line quality as well It looks to me like you have micron pens or something similar. I personally dont recommend the colored ones unless you have several sizes of them. You could also work on coloring as well. You do really good sketches and with practice you can make your lineart look just as good

Alright thank youu, those were actually snowman markers I had back then and that specific drawing traumatizrd me from ever using pens or markers again even though I had already forgotten why 💀 by inking does that involve using.. the permanent ink things? Or does it mean just line weight in general?
Line weight and stuff. I see some with like tiny marks and I interpreted that to be like the really thin micron pens
Uh yea no they were just me pushing down the pencil really hard by accident 🗿
