So this is an artwork I really wanted to add some cool effects to, what do you guys recommend? (Also: Video of my process below in case you would like to give me feedback.)

You could add some yellow shine to his hair on the side with the yellow magic stuff!!

Lolol it’s all good! But other than that, you should make the background a little darker so the shininess/glow of the magic pops out more :]

That sounds great but I'm pretty new to making backgrounds and I wouldn't know how to implement that 😔

I gotchu!! What program are you using? And is your background in a different layer from everything else?

Holy crap, really?? Well, I'm using Procreate and the background is in a different layer

Most of everything is since I've made the mistake of having everything on the same layer before 💀 🙏

I use ibis but I think procreate has the filters feature too

I see what u mean by making the bg more subtle to increase the focal point on the main attraction

I've tried using many tricks to add glow, but none of them really fit in well enough for me to leave it in the final products :(

Okay idk what filters are on procreate so I have an alternative 😭 you can make a new layer and color the whole thing a dark purple (make sure the layer only goes over the background layer) then you can change the opacity of your purple layer to your liking and after that you can merge the purple layer and your background layer

Idk how to help with that part bc I don’t use procreate :,] but hopefully darkening the background will make the glow stand out more!!
