i'd work on anatomy first! 😊 the face anatomy of your character is very off, and his neck is too thick by the unbuff way he looks, good anatomy always pops more than good cel shading! at least in my opinion 😋
Gotta know ur lightsource first before u can add ur shadows
Well thats just my artstyle. Drawing a smller neck doesnt really fit. And i still doubt myself, so my art is s good as it could be
😭
it looks
well
if youre not accepting critiscim how are you gonna improve man
I am accepting the critisim. Im just saying i dont draw small necks because it dont fit the head. If i wasnt accepting your criticism, i would be flat out denying your claims. I do know the art is bad. If i didnt, i wouldn't be asking for help. I'm jusy giving my side
and i am telling you is anatomicly wrong for him to have that fat ass neck 😭
If u dont want smaller neck then make the shoulders/torso bigger
Shoulders are usually about half a head width over on each side
I did make the shoulders bigger. How big you want them to be.
u need to work on anatomy, not jump into shading
shading is a later thing first work on understand the body structure
i made them bigger and straighten out the neck
necks dont curve like that in front facing view. it would only curve if youre angling your head a certain way
1 eye is bigger than the other, id start with fixing that
additionally i just realized the left eye is way too big compared to the other eye. once you figure out where u want the lightsource we can work out the shadows
^
no need for the fat neck if your character aint buff, you gotta learn that not everything can be "just my style"
ugly ass arms ik
I drew this back in 2020 when my artstyle got better. This is just how my artstyle is
this 1 looks better tehn the other 1
the other 1 looks a bit lopsided to me
Again like i said ik my art bad. I can fix or redraw it later. Im just politely saying this is how i made my artstyle and still lck confidence which affects my art a bit
I dont know if anyone here cares. But i get frustrated easily. I do appreciate the advice. I understand my art can be better. But keeping up with your artstyle makes me frustrated and start to lack that confidence. I hope i didnt offend anyone.
broski just ignore the neck comments. just straighten out the neck, make the left eye smaller and resize the head to be smaller to fix the body OR resize the body to fit the head. figure out where u want the lighting to go and then we can apply the cell shading youve been asking for
But how do i apply the cel shading. I look3d up videos and i still get confused
a hard brush used to placed where the shadows are
what you see in western animation and basic anime is cell shading
I love art but man it gets tedious sometimes lol
Fr. I die a little inside every time i have to do the tedious parts
The thing about art styles is that you first learn the fundamentals and THEN break the rules
Oh i understand. I been drawing for 10 years. Im self taught. Ik im good but i just doubt myself all too much
Just have confidence in yourself, you got this
