I'm trying to design a character (HSR to be exact), but I'm not sure if this design is good enough (?). She's based off the 18's fashion and a Luna Moth. I'd love to receive advice and critiques on the design! 🤍

It's rlly pretty :D
Playable Hsr designs usually have a lot of small details in the fabric and stuff! The hair is neat and pretty but hsr characters usually have more detailed and unique hair. The face doesn't look finalized yet but hoyo characters are usually recognizable by the eyes so you could design them around a Luna moth ^^ (the hoyoverse brainrot is killing me please send help)

I think adding the fuzzy antenna thing of moths somewhere would be cute too :>

# rancid topaz Haha i did put it in as the feathers on her hat! maybe they didn't stand out mu...

add one more!!! (feather)

agreed with yukicat-hsr characters have really intricate designs. When designing a character, patterns should repeat on some aspects of clothing. I think you did well on that! Maybe add big ovals and frills on the heels to show that too.

And another design tip is to exaggerate. Make the hat bigger! Enlarge the parasol! Make the dress fluffier!

One thing to consider is also the silhouette of your character. I would suggest shorter hair or tied hair (maybe a bun tied back? or long long long miku-style pigtails).

the silhouette shows the overall form of the character, and makes your audience know who this is! its like "whos that pokemon?" It helps the person recognize the character

Are you going for edwardian fashion? Cause the 1800s had a lot of fluctuations in fashion just like the 1900s. Even just within Victorian fashion it changed a lot decade to decade. Theres technically three eras in the 1800s. The regency period, victorian, and edwardian. Each period having its own general appearance as well as events impacting the fashion

Yeah these are late victorian and edwardian influenced. The right pic doesnt look completely historically accurate. More just a modern interpretation of the fashion.
