I have a lot of trouble trying to keep my character looking the same, if anyone has any tips I would greatly appreciate it!
As well as any general harsh criticism on any of my work!

Wait did you do this? I remember critiquing this lol

I dont understand what u mean it looks more or less the same, people could easily recognise it,

hii the main thing you should do to keep same look for your character is measure/memorise their most unique facial features and keep them the same. for example head shape (is it oval, round? start your sketch with the same simple shape), mouth - where the mouth sits on the face?, distance between eyes etc
breaking down your character into simple shapes and repeating them when you draw them again will help you a lot

Honestly I was surprised when I saw it, it looks so much better and more realistic now. Great job with it

@normal jetty @worldly trail
I’ve done a few more sketches trying to measure out distances and what not but I seem to really dislike and struggle with the 3/4 view. I didn’t work too hard on it but they never make sense to me 😔
I’m open to absolutely anything, everything and anything to help me improve

Idk if this is helpful but maybe create a ref sheet and use that when drawing new things with it?

I outlined the whole head shaped and copy it next to the ref then I divided the head to 3 main areas 1 chin to nose, 2 nose to eyebrows, 3 forehead and traced same areas into the new drawing. then we can look for smaller details and fit them into the 3 areas - where ears end/start, eye shape,.. and now you can easily fit it into the areas. just remember that it will change it's shape a little, since it's far from us, ale the other eye will be a little cover because of nose etc. but with this scheme it should be a little bit easier to find where everything sits

#

for the profile we can use the same measurements. you can also use reference pictures for better understanding of head shape in profile view but still can apply your own schemes to it to fit your character^^ for example use reference for marking where should the ear start and how to shape jawline and then go in with your own marks for nose, mouth etc.

#

eye shape will change but you should keep in mind how it looks like from the front view - the inner corner of the eye is lower than the outer corner for example so you should reflect that into the profile view

@normal jetty sorry for pinging you AGAIN, I heavily referenced your guide and made it my own. I think this has helped me a ton for the side view! Yet to try the 3/4
If anyone has any suggestions I’m in need

I suck at 3 quarter views

I’m not the best right now either haha, but I’m determined to learn!

I used multiple references for parts of her face, like eyes and nose. I haven’t gotten up to her head shape yet, so ignore that!
But what do you guys think about this? Harsh criticism wanted!
