Well idk how to exactly help because i dont do that good of digital painting stuff, however it looks like you are using a blending layer to shade. Id recommend working on more doing the shading yourself if that makes any sense. Not to say you dont do any of it. Ik how digital art works lol. But work on adjusting the hues and values yourself and understanding when/where you would need to use hard vs soft shadows
#Style tips pretty pls ππ

ohh I see, I actually didn't use any blending layers beyond the glow of the lake/portal thing in the first piece
thank u though ^.^

are you traditional??
I do traditional a little but most of my knowledge is digital. However i also dont really know how to digital paint
ahhh ok
Yeah. I can do like soft digital painting sort of but its still messy. Is a wip
Dunno how to refine my paintings/shading digitally
However somehow i can do it better via watercolors
Havnt done watercolors for that long
i gotta answer for ya
the style your wanting requires a really damn good understanding of the fundamentals and anatomy
all of it is based off of shapes. theres very little lines
its one of those things where you block out the shape on a layer and then refine it on the layer. like the hair is a separate layer than the skin and so forth. its like a makeshift of rendering on one layer but with layers
theres also the solid understanding in color theory, anatomy, composition, lighting/shading
ohh I see
(I've seen the process for the miku and the purple lady one) They seem to have a habit of doing a rough sketch, colours underneath, then continue on top by rendering everything out
I'm mainly stuck on that jump though, because I can either make my sketches too messy and basic (so i can't make anything out later) or detailed to the point they're basically lineart ,_,;;;
Yeah p standard with these kinda styles lol. Its tricky cuz its actually multiple layers to be able to fix things easier
I mean these kinda styles arent solely on sketches. A good chunk is just shapes. Why copy them when u can morph it to match u as a person
and me as a person is very lineart heavy (even though i wish i wasn't)
thanks for trying to help,, I wish I could ask someone who actually draws like this
O h u meant the style. I thought u meant the rendering process
