Are you drawing with references or from imagination
and for shading i recomend drawing lightly then erasing in round patterens en then draw furr over it to give it mor color
with reference mainly
okayy ty
So what i think is a major issue is that youre just going hard in with the pencil and just kinda scribbling hoping it will turn out ok. Dont just dive in. Gradually sculpt it if that makes sense. Go over the same area a few times. Layer it. And pay attention to the direction the fur is going to help increase that sense of now dont draw every individual hair. Just focus on the shapes and the direction things are visually flowing
Also do a structural sketch before you try and jump into details. Map everything out before you do anything related to the actual shading
a technique you can also do is to start with a wolf's anatomy and work from there
yeah ik i should be doing that im just very unmotivated to do so bc ive never really been motivated to draw animals, or even to draw traditionally, usually if i do draw traditionally its just anatomy practiceðŸ˜
