itll be a pokemon oc (2-in-1 character) for art fight, working on it every now and again. im an amateur and not very experienced in digital art, so some commentary or constructive (‼️) criticism would be appreciated! as well as suggestions, i do have references (from gacha, dont flame me lol) but im 100% sold on the designs yet

it seems like you have a color palette down nicely, my advice is finding references for the hair, clothes etc that you wanna put on this character. i usually end up collecting 10-15 references per design, but my designs are quite intricate

thank u!! i was worried the palette would be too clashing;; do u just place the clothing references on the side also? i assume figuring out what works is mainly photobashing too right?

its difficult to explain, but sort of. ill usually take the sleeves from one drawing, the boots from another, that kinda thing, and draw it on the drawing. knowing it works together is mostly just training your eye, which comes with experience and practice
