hi! i'm a beginner with painting so if anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it! the anatomy feels off and not really sure how to continue from here... thanks all!!

Wow that painting is beautiful! _ maybe a thing that could help is defining the forms with shadows. The proportions look good imo 🙂

thank you very much!! how should i improve the shadows? i tend to go wayy too dark and struggle with using the right colours hence the shirts appear a bit murky

What helps me personally is looking at photos of dramatic lighting portraits. Also making the shadows a bit more purple/blue and the light a bit more yellow/red. But that‘s all also a stylistic choice and I‘m not a professional in any way 😂

Remember it's always ok to go over with colored pencils, to add more depth!
