So i started drawing 3 days ago, its normal they look like sh×t, but i was wondering why i mess up proportions when i draw faster altough i have a general understanding of what shapes should the body look like, do i really understand or am i just copying? Should i focus on something like bones and muscles or should i just keep drawing poses until i get a sort of muscle memory?
#tips drawing poses faster/better?

I don't recommend getting too deep into anatomy for this. What you are doing is called gesture drawing, check out some tutorial videos on youtube. The idea is to get a quick feel of the pose, not draw exactly. Like now you are trying to draw every finger and you're using very rigid lines. Figure drawing on the other hand goes a little more in detail, but it's usually more than 2 minutes, especially for beginner. It takes time for your eye to start recognizing proportions, you just need to draw more and be concious about measuring the proportions. There are plenty video tutorials for that too, howto measure the proportions with your eyes.
i did kind of looked on yt on this matter, especially on marc brunet, however, basically i'm doing too much detail? they should be just simpler? i know i need to use them as foundation when drawing a character, but i plan to do that in a week when i get my graphic tablet, is it better if i try to do some faces instead of doing the poses meanwhile i wait?
Watch more than 1 video. Watch 5 videos on 1 topic and really try to understand what you're supposed to do.
i'll try thx
And im not sure what you mean by using as foundation for character idk. What is it what you're trying to practice or accomplish?
Link me the video you used
final objective is drawing cool character, fantasy or else, for the links gimme a min i'll go get them

those one
There's like 100,000 things to learn to make a professional looking character. You can't learn everything first so you can finally start making the character of your dreams. Start drawing those characters, when you run into issues watch a tutorial to figure stuff out. And when you practice do so with a purpose. You don't want to just mindlessly do 2 min drawings if ur not sure why u doing it and what its supposed to teach you.
but i do know why im doing them, its the base for the charcter before everything else, and the faster the better, is it not?
isnt this step 1 for drawing a character?
Not really, it's just an exercise to allow you to draw more poses faster so that you train your eye to recognize proportions etc. better. Imagine if you tried to practice proportions by spending 5 hours for super detailed drawing. Very ineficcient.
Please watch more videos on gesture drawing before you continue it, i love marcs videos but that one was horrible.
i see, so its just for proportions
i'll watch a few more video on the argument, i'll do a little practice every day about gesture and then i guess i'll just try to replicate cool characters and see whats wrong
is it bad then to learn from his video?
No he has very good videos but that particular one was not that great. In general I'd recommend to find like a few professional artists to look tutorials for, because if you only watch 1 video you might get things wrong.
i'll try to look up different youtubers
Ill give you a few good ones lemme open my PC.
thanks
Tyler Edlin, Dan Beardshaw, Modern Day James, Marco Bucci, Trent Kaniuga, Hardy Fowler, Forrest Imel.
Here is a couple playlists for my favorite tutorials. The other one is only made up of marc brunets videos.
oh i recognise that one thumnail
i'll gradually look them up over time, for now i'll just watch the playlist argument and the most interesting video
And personally I would first focus on trying to get like a good wide view of what you're supposed to be practicing and why. There's a good video for this from marcs playlist, says like skill tree or something.
Also the learn to draw from 0-100 video
ye i did alredy watched most of them, at least the one about marc
Oh and good rule to follow. You want at least 50% of your time to be drawing for fun and at max 50% of theory and exercises, not more. Will help you prevent burnout and actually keep applying what you're trying to learn. Not just practice theory for theorys sake.
for the past 3 days i've been doing nothing but practice (shape, perspective, poses, etc..) so ye i can see that, at the same time i can't really draw for fun rn cause' i have just pen and paper, i dont think they look or feel great, but im confident it will get more fun when my graphic tablet is here, so i'm more interested in the practice for now, as a "it will be helpful later and i dont waste time" kind of thing
