not me being chronically online hhhhh but the first photo i overlayed it with the og and u can see where youre going wrong

#

are you doing a construction sketch before going into your final lines?

#

dont draw at an angle. your drawing is slanted even with me straightening out the camera work

#

your anime style is a bit on the realistic side. is this what youre aiming for? what anime style do you want. its a p broad genre

#

keep doing realism practice, its how u will be able to know all the rules to be able to break them. a good practice is doing a study in realism and then try replicating it again but in the anime style u want

#

so youre getting practice on both end

#

youre also lacking in the fundamentals https://drawabox.com/ is a good source for leanring. it teaches and has practices

yes I sketch my drawing before I go into final lines. My aim is to draw anime but while drawing realistic I feel like im better than that so im not sure if i should continue drawing realistic or try to draw anime. also you said i should practice realism drawing can i really draw anime if i practice realism because anime proportion is weird so i have a hard time to sketch it and yeh i dont have fundamentals the only fundamentals i learned is how to draw Loomis head and also what is p broad genre?

U gotta know the rules to properly break them

#

Anime is a broad genre. What kinda style r u aiming for? Jjk? Bhna? Blue period? Shin shin?

#

Yeah practice ur fundamentals. Not knowing them will hinder u in everything if u dont have a solid foundation

Here comes my ultimate hair tutorial. First and foremost you need to remember that hair ALWAYS has mass on top of the head it never is perfectly suctioned to the skull even when pulled up or gelled back. It still has volume on top of it. With this in mind youll want to have a general shape of what you want the hair to be. Dont fuss about details. Just get the general shape down. Now that you have that done youll need to draw large chunks of hair. Make sure that you think in layers so it has more depth. Nice rule of thumb is to have a front, middle, and back. You can have more or less layers if your art needs it. Once again do not focus on tiny details. Just do large chunks of hair. While doing this you will want to keep in mind that hair should be visually flowing from a single point. Dont make all the hair literally sprouting from that point. Unless youre doing ponytail zuko just make it so the shapes guide your eyes to that point. Now youll go a little further into detail but do not dive into hyper detailed. Just get a little more specific. Then do it more so. Keep going until its reached a reasonable point for you. Obviously you wouldnt expect steven universe to have photorealistic hair lol

ow so that one of my mistake i focus on details i just need to general shape down kk also do you have sample for girls?

copper solar
#

Its the same for girls. The only diff is its longer in strands

#

Both follows the same rules. The thing u should keep in mind for longer hair is its interaction with other objects and wind

long hair is also heavier.
to help with the anime style,-- anime is honestly one of the more accurate versions of a realistic yet simplified human body, just work on realistic proportions and then simplify from there. Simplification is voiding details whilst keeping an understandable shape. that's why noses are often dots or lines. eyes are larger to be more expressive, mouths are a line with the occasional shadow of a bottom lip. at the end of the day, your style is something you work to create, it's your choice what you simplify or detail.
i also recommend working on line confidence and thinking of what it'll add to a piece. For example, on the last photo, the girl in the beanie, the small lines in the hair make it look a bit like wrinkled fabric, you're better off either making the lines go down the length fully, or not at all.

so what do you recomend i practice every day fundamentals or drawing reference or just both? or like focus on stuff that im bad at like lips eyes hair

if u dont keep up with what you already know, youre gonna lose it

#

do some master studies on violet evergarden art too. break down all its shapes and proportions to help u get a style similar to it too, it has lots of flowy hair throughout the eps so good for studies too. make sure to do realism vers too
