Here comes my ultimate hair tutorial. First and foremost you need to remember that hair ALWAYS has mass on top of the head it never is perfectly suctioned to the skull even when pulled up or gelled back. It still has volume on top of it. With this in mind youll want to have a general shape of what you want the hair to be. Dont fuss about details. Just get the general shape down. Now that you have that done youll need to draw large chunks of hair. Make sure that you think in layers so it has more depth. Nice rule of thumb is to have a front, middle, and back. You can have more or less layers if your art needs it. Once again do not focus on tiny details. Just do large chunks of hair. While doing this you will want to keep in mind that hair should be visually flowing from a single point. Dont make all the hair literally sprouting from that point. Unless youre doing ponytail zuko just make it so the shapes guide your eyes to that point. Now youll go a little further into detail but do not dive into hyper detailed. Just get a little more specific. Then do it more so. Keep going until its reached a reasonable point for you. Obviously you wouldnt expect steven universe to have photorealistic hair lol
