boring art style

i have no problem messing around with anatomy and stuff. overall i consider myself flexible with art styles but Nothing ever clicks with me it all feels so boring and i dont enjoy it , same going for the brushes i use its just the same thing over and over and nobody exactly wants to share theirs that id like to experiment with 💀
i cant seem to do anything special with faces right now. my brushes annoy me (as in they feel bad to draw with even digitally)
So what should i do 😭

i still have a lot of fundamentals to learn but its hard to find motivation when im drawing something really mediocre feeling. not unique to me

Take a step back and think what exactly it is that you dont like about your art rn. Try and look for artists who do what you want to be able to accomplish, then try and replicate that into your art. I for a long while could not figure out why i didnt like the way my art was turning out. And i actually just from walking around a town in hawaii while on vacation saw an artist’s work and it really stood out to me and i realized that this was the kind of art i want to be able to do. Took me a while to find the name of the art style but now that ik the name it is so much easier to find examples of the art i want to be able to do. It even has shown up more frequently in my social feed as of late

This is the piece in question that helped me realized this. I never bought it because i didn’t plan to buy anything while at that shop. Just was browsing because i wanted to explore the town

ty for replying bro its just ive actually found a bunch of inspirations already. ive studied their work as in analyzing construction composition and choices made throughout pieces and where the overall aesthetic comes from and i still cant do it
. is it a skill issue i genuinely have no idea😭
only thing that REALLY makes me want to rip my hair out is not having the right brushes as in i cant replicate any textures or any linework effects that come from the quality of a brush no matter how hard i try (like i cant make something have a painted paper type texture with a half assed textured pencil i got for free somewhere since theres nothing better
i do not believe in the statement that you dont need good tools to make any type of art im sorry☹️ literally ruins all the fun when u dont have them

Believe me i get it. Yes one should be able to use basic brushes but that doesnt mean it’s manageable with basic brushes for every effect. Also you can have textural overlays to make the illusion of it being on paper. I actually have some saved on my computer that i like to use from time to time
