Apologies if the request is a little too broad! I'm really struggling with line art and color. Something always seems "off" but I don't think I'm skilled enough to quite identify what. I'm sure there's a lot to work on, but any advice on something actionable I can practice or adjust so I may learn would be immensely appreciated. Thank you 🙂
#Critiques on Lining and Color?

I’d recommend adding deeper shading! On the left you do a good job but the shading seems to all be one value, which shouldn’t be the case. Make sure you are using different values for the shadows. Also, the ear seems to be a bit too high! Other than that, great work!
Thank you! I’ll try and work in some different value shadows!
As far as the actual placement of the shadows, does that seem to make sense? Or is their placement kind of wonky?
They look fine to me. I’d suggest instead of lining the bottom collar bone, shade there instead so it gives a less flat look. Right now it looks less like a collar bone and more of an object resting on her chest. I’d also suggest a shadow under the big piece of hair coming in the front of her hair.
I would suggest working on shadow consistency and lighting. For example, on the hair, there are highlights in the shadows, which to my knowledge, doesn't usually happen, but if it's a stylistic choice, I understand
Ah yeah that’s a good point on the collar bone. Thank you again 🙏
You’re totally right about the highlight lol
Thank you! I’ll try and work on that!
