I’m in such a love hate relationship with my style rn 😭 I’m just not happy with it at all. I drew this of Eve from invincible. And I like it, it’s not bad at all but at the same time I hate it. Like artistically it’s fine but aesthetically to me I just don’t like my style anymore 😭😭😭😭. And whenever I try drawing in a different style it just goes back to my style I’m in a LOOP IDK WHAT TO DO

your values are all kinda similar and are all compact. all the darks are in one area, the lights are in another era. you can start playing with lighting more and have a range of lights and darks everywehre
you can also play around with texture too
First off, what do you dislike about your style and second what are you going for
3 point perspective has a podcast episode about style that might help😊 One of them says it is good to do a master copy of different artists you like. They say that another good exercise is to think: how would x artist draw x? (For example man, car, robot, hand etc.) And then draw it how you think they would do it.
I dislike how extremely cartoony it is. Like the big eyes or rounded shapes etc. I also dislike how complicated it is to draw. I can never get a quick sketch down that doesn’t take forever because I’m unhappy with it. I wish my style was more like these. Where it’s easier to diversify faces, body types etc. my style doesn’t make it easy to do that. idk if it’s just my style or it’s my lack of proper capabilities and technique. But I’m just really frustrated
