Do some subtle embroidery

Can you find some references of similar style clothes?
Honestly just darker shadows should help, use similar techniques as you did for the hair
It is cute
im presuming this is maomao from the apothecary diaries. as you can see, her belt is placed where her ribcage ends. the belt is a little low on your illustration, it looks like its at the hips. I know this doesn't exactly relate to what you're asking for but me personally i find it easier to shade smaller surfaces of clothing lol
id recommend looking at the actual show/manga and use as reference
she has a flat chest and the clothing is very loose so it will gather at the bottom because gravity is a thing
if you need a more realistic reference, i belive the clothing is called hanfu
ohhh right i was assuming the white thing wasnt loose thank you!
ah okay! i wasnt trying to overdo it on shadows but I'll darken them
I think it looks better!
Does the background look like random grey lines or curtains ðŸ˜
Looks like a wall with patterns
Make the background orange
Like the lines
Id imagine its because thats a compliementary color for green
It would give a striped wallpaper look
For curtains id reccomend some wavier lines and thin them some
Cause it works with the green and pink
Doesn’t have to be bright are orange can be faded but as long as it’s like an orange it works
Colors r endless
