I feel like the lighting is wrong, and I am not sure what kind of light source I should add to foreground to make this drawing be less boring

You do have erratic lighting, but it's fixable, you can try to find what lighting scenario you want to portray, so far the shadow on the hair (on top of forehead) and right side of the face shouldn't be there (u still need some shadows on the right side of the face, e.g from the bangs). Also for background, this is honestly fine if you put more detail into the character, alternatively:
Draw a scene where u want to put your character and light it according to what lightsource there is in your drawn scene.
