I guess its my style
but the textures of the hair are based on android 18 from dragon ball
i think you could make it look less square-ish
also maybe the neck 2/8 less large
okay
also
when i say style you want, it can be drawings you like
oh ok
the nose in the fourth one is looking a bit too sharp/ pointy
What rules or tricks do y´all have for keeping a normal neck size
I struggle a lot with that
Something i want to input is that with any artist there is no such thing as a 100% original art style. All art styles are influenced by others. The only one that is arguably truly original is hieroglyphs and petroglyphs and even then. They all were influenced by something so even those were not original
A neck like this is better or is it too small?
the lines are about 1/4 of the head
oh ok
a tiny bit too small
I suck at necks lol
Very wise
maybe something like 3% smaller
also when i draw the neck i tend to make the top line go back out a bit,
so a curve
yeah
the best way to get an art style is to look at what we like from other's people's drawings and try to reproduce it
my trick for femine characters is that the base of the jaw isn't very flat
Can i see one of ur drawings?? Im really curious about ur style
I tried doing some modifications to hair
How would u color her?
-the hair is more puffy
-the thingy at the root of the hair is more pronouced and a bit triangular
-no middle line
the ear in the side view is a bit to big in depth
will you do it trad or digital
100% digital
ok
do you have a color you want for the hair
I was thinking black or blonde
Black or dark color look like this tho
With blonde hair those "white" sports look a little less
"those white sports look a little less"
could you reformulate I didn't quite understand this
I mean that
aahhh the bucket tool
that depends on what program you're using and what sensitivity settings you have.
i think it's better to fill it with a big brush and then erase the surplus
I'd go with blond for now cause it's easier to make the color choices
or you can make a copy of the layer that you put underneath and fill multiple times (so it overflows and hides it) (well it depends on what brush you're using)
also the hair puff you added should go higher
it's kind of too sharp
what i do when
coloring digital:
0 choose a color palette
1 paint the main colors
2 take a color for the shadow. don't just go darker, change the saturation a bit.
paint the shadows ( only the dark ones, the lighter ones can use a color picked in 4)
3 do the same for the highlights but the opposite way, so lighter and les saturated ( you don't need to change the saturation too much)
4 gradient (according to taste) take a color that is in between your base and shadow/highlight color and use it in between those to transition the colors. repeat as much as you like. if you prefer hard shadows (shadows that aren't smoothly transitioned), you can pretty much skip this step.
i think the eyes are too big for the head; unless this is your personal style, i think you should make them a bit smaller
I feel like for the colouring you could do it on another layer and then do it or if you can alpha lock it rather than erasing the excess
don't forget to bring the ears in a bit closer to her head after you adjusted her jaw on the front facing poses : )
Some color attempt
