Wow, cool start. I have some observations. Make your hatching and cross hatching follow the contours of the form. Look for more planes around the eye sockets, you are rendering them pretty flat, The eyes are a sphere placed inside a concave hole that is wrapped in some muscles. Some of that may be from the lighting in your reference. -- there does not seem to be a strong source of light (maybe lit from the front or top?) Structurally you did pretty well, but the nose is kind of close to the mouth, or its possible the nose is a bit too low.
#could I get some crit?

This diagram is kind of creepy and bizarre, but if you can see past that I find it helpful for facial proportions
thanks for the crit! I want to do contours but I just need to work up the nerve lol this is the ref, how'd it compare?
Oh this explains a lot. lol. Yeah you have "fashion lighting" here, where they have lit softly from several light sources and burned away most of the shadows you need. It is typical of fashion photography. Note her head tips down a bit. And notice how dark the eye sockets are above the pupils. You have a ways to go but you might be able to pull it off yet. Good luck
thanks I'll do my best 🫡🫡🫡
have I overdone it?
I dont think so, not yet anyway. Look for blacks or nearly black areas. Try to create some contrast from your dark areas and light areas.. Did you leave out the shoulder on purpose? Her forehead is kind of a sphere or orb, so dont neglect rendering that as well. She also has near-perfectly smooth flawless skin, so try to even out the shading to capture that as well. For instance, her right cheek (on your left) is one smooth curve following around from her nostril to her ear. Try to get that as smooth as possible. Difficult to do with black ink on white paper, but give it a try. And dont be afraid of making your darks nearly totally black.
